One of the most difficult emotions to deal with is dealing with depression.Because everyone goes through depression at different times in life, it is definitely difficult. But the depression we are actually talking about having a very high difficultly in dealing with is the serious depression.  Sometimes it is called clinical depression. That is exactly the one that is hard to determine if it is serious enough to require some kind of counseling.  In this article we are going to look for signs that you need depression counseling.

First of all, and as detailed earlier, everyone has some kind of fights of depression from time to time.  But there are some events that rigger a person that goes too far. Something very emotional makes it really hard for a certain person to just overcome depression sometimes. Emotional events like a death of someone so dear like a relative can actually trigger this type of depression. I see this a lot as a depression counselor. This usually takes place when a person really feels like it is their fault.

Now, specific causes of depression are basically not always similar for everyone. Something that doesn’t affect one person can really cause another one depression.  Sometimes though it can be a chemical reaction within the body.  This type of depression usually has to be dealt with using drugs.  There are times that I have to prescribe some sort of medication running a family therapist San Diego practice.I hate to do just that but however, sometimes if the depression is actually not coming from some event in life that is basically the only solution.

Then there are some kind or type of depression that absolutely comes from problems or issues from within the family of course.Usually, a married couple sometimes may begin having a really hard time getting along with each other especially with their differences.  This causes a rough time in their marriage.  I see this type of depression a lot doing couples counseling San Diego. If the couple is willing enough to try to work things out, then this type or kind of depression can actually be overcome.

Depression is absolutely a serious emotion that really needs to be addressed as you can definitely see. Hopefully, this will be able to assist you to certainly know when a person or individual requires to seek counseling from a pro.

How counseling can help in curing depression

One of the hardest emotions people go through is depression. If you have ever experienced it you know it isn’t a fun thing to go through.  What’s worse is when it get’s real serious and goes beyond temporary.  It can be caused by a traumatic situation in one’s life.It can also be caused due to a death in the family.  Or it can be from many different things. But the key to solving this is to know when the right time to go seek help.

Now the help I am talking about is using a depression counselor sevice to help. You have to seek help already when aspects in your life are being affected already. This is where it affects your job.Or when your social skills are also being affected. The reason why you need to seek help is because depression not only can hurt other people but you can also hurt yourself in the process. And it is very hard to know when they have reached that point already. That is why counseling is needed.

Another bad result of depression is when it develops into chronic anger. There will be times that a depressed person would feel like that their life is out of their control. If that happens they would feel angry at the world for whatever reason.  This is when they would need anger management counseling services.Because you do not want a depression case to worsen and develop into a chronic anger case.  That is where you start seeing other people get hurt.

If you are experiencing these things then you should seek counseling already.Because counseling can help treat this depression. With my family therapist San Diego service I try to help people in this area.  And sometimes what they need is someone who can understand what they are going through. To overcome their depression this is what they need sometimes.

As you can see depression is a serious emotional problem. It may worsen and can hurt other people if left untreated.Undergoing counseling would help one to overcome those things.

Ways to control your anger

Anger is one of those things that is experienced by everyone.  Everyone will lose their cool once in a while. It is but natural to happen. What’s not good about it is when they become angry always. That’s the time when you could hurt someone that you love.  But not only can it be hurtful emotionally, but physically as well. With that in mind here I present some of the ways to control your anger.

Controlling your anger is not easy.  That is why my anger management San Diego practice gets so many people with anger issues. But you can get through it.There are things you can do to control even if it seems like you can do nothing about it.First thing you can do is to admit that you are undergoing stress.Stress is one of the causes of uncontrollable anger.By acknowledging the fact that you are stressed you will know what to do when you are getting agitated again.

Another way you can cope with anger is to learn how to respond and not to react.  It is one of the biggest techniques I teach for my family therapist San Diego practice.  What it means is to think about situations rather than instinctively reacting to it.  By being logical and thinking about a situation you are better able to respond. So that your reaction would make the situation better rather than make it worse.

Depression is another cause of anger.More often than not, people affected with depression becomes angry most of the time.It causes anger because a depressed person feels like he or she is useless.  I see this all the time doing depression counseling. So to counter this anger one should solve the root of the problem of that person’s depression.

Taking to heart these steps would make you cope with your anger easier.Anger is an emotion that is hard to control.  That is why so many suffer from anger management issues. But knowing the root of your problems would greatly help you in recovering your old self.  That way you can avoid letting your anger not only hurt you but those you love.

What makes one successful and one fail in sports

Posted in Computers and Technology on October 21st, 2009 by contributor – Be the first to comment

Sports and finding out how to succeed is a real funny thing.  You can have a superb athlete who can’t find success.  Then you can have an average athlete who excels beyond expectations. At first glance you can’t seem to explain it.But when you look closer you see the primary reason some have success while some fail is the mind.  But why is that?In this article we are going to examine it a little closer.

So how come the mind is so important in sports?  As a San Diego sports psychologist I have been priveleged to see first hand why this is so.  First off the stereotype of athletes being big and dumb is false.Athletes are really some of the smartest people around. And the ones that have the most success are the ones who have learned how to use their mind.

Funny thing a lot of athletes come in needing my anger management San Diego practice.A lot of times they get this anger because they failed in sports.  But what I am able to do is turn them around.  The way to turn them around is to show them that their failures are in their mind.By being able to use their mind more effectively, they can have great success. It has been shown to be true over and over again.

Once an athlete becomes aware and understands how powerful the mind is, they can become successful.A lot of the times they are able to have tremendous success. It is similar to how things are in life generally. The mind is so important when it comes to taking action and getting results.  I see it not just in the athletes I deal with but also with families.  The San Diego family therapist practice I run I have used some of the same principles to help families achieve success.Success in being able to deal with any family struggles that happen.  In life and sports a lot of times the key is in your mind.

Anger management-how it makes families better

Posted in Computers and Technology on October 19th, 2009 by contributor – Be the first to comment

One thing about everybody is we have emotions.  On some people these emotions are more easily displayed. Some emotions are good for a person especially when displayed like happiness. Some people display emotions such as happiness and excitement and laughter.Other people tend to show more sadness or more anger than happiness. Most people experience these emotions but sometimes they get out of hand. Anger is one of these emotions.

As you have learned in this article anger can have devastating effects on a family. In my practice doing anger management in San Diego I have seen the effects it can have on a family. It could be very uncomfortable if you live with that person. It could make everybody afraid to say the wrong thing. It can turn what is supposed to be a place of safety into a negative place. That place of safety is home life.

Strange as it may seem but in a few cases this anger stems from some sort of depression. Whatever reason it may be but the case is that this person is depressed. Once they do not see a solution to a problem most of the time it leads to anger. That is why I advice everyone feeling depression to seek a depression counselor. The best way is to stop something before it gets worse. After all it might not lead to anger but maybe to something worse where they hurt themselves.

Either way these two emotions whether they stem from each other have to be dealt with. If you let either of the two emotions get the best of you and do not seek help then it will definitely get worse. It will destroy your relationship with your family. It can destroy relationships.  Being a family therapist in San Diego I stress the importance of good relationships in family life. So I stress to you that any kind of emotional issues be dealt with immediately. Sometimes it can be hard to swallow your pride and seek help professionally. But this would prove to be very helpful in the long run especially for the person affected.
